MGM was founded in 1986 and incorporated in 1992, originally as MGM Preservation Ltd. It shortened its name to MGM Ltd in 1999 to reflect its developing expertise and reputation in a wider range of specialist construction services and has grown steadily to become one of the leading specialist property refurbishment companies in Northern England.
In February 2007 MGM Ltd became part of the Northern Bear Plc group of companies.
MGM has a direct workforce of around 80 employees including three managers, four surveyors, five administrative personnel and 68 on-site operatives (numbers vary).
All surveyors receive in-house training with the aim of obtaining the industry qualifications.
Operatives receive in-house training with regard to safe working practices, health and safety, risk assessment and first aid. All operatives hold CITB Construction Skills cards.
Staff development and training is vital to the success of the company and we run regular in-house programmes so that people at all levels can learn new skills or develop their capabilities.

Our skills not only embrace refurbishment and fit out, but also new build constructions.
To us, effective construction begins with relationships. We want our clients to be able to trust us and to be confident that we will not only meet their needs, but exceed their expectations.
As an open and friendly business we encourage our clients to understand and get to know us, just as we will strive to understand them and their requirements.
All our projects are managed by a Director, meaning you receive senior level input from day one and access to those who have the authority to make quick and timely decisions to ensure your project is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality.
Our aim is to part of your team; we want to work with you rather than for you.
As a team we will contribute through good advice and proactive suggestions and where possible, add value to your project by exploring all alternatives on your behalf.
